PERSONAL PURPOSE

Exploring your Personal Purpose in the context of what you are going to be facilitating and your role in developing others.

The image above illustrates the components that come together to make ‘Personal Purpose’. This image is underpinned by a series of questions that will support you to think deeply about why you want to move forward and develop as a facilitator.

Take each of these questions in turn and make notes for yourself about what this next journey will mean. Some of these answers may be in the future as a vision for what will be, however, they are all grounded in the intention of what is.

When you think about your passion for developing as a Facilitator, what would you like to record for future reference?

What is it that you love about the idea of helping others on their journeys?

When you think about fantastic facilitation you have experienced, how has that helped you personally?

Describe the positive impact that you would like to have as a facilitator (what would you like people to be saying they valued)?

In the context of appreciation, how will you show appreciation to those you are facilitating?

How will you feel when you get to that point on your facilitation journey when you really feel you are ‘great at it’?

How will your passion for listening show through?

Finally, look back on all of your responses and create a purpose statement. It might be helpful to have a generic sentence to start, followed by a few bullet points based on what seems central to your responses.
